Mission Statement
The mission of the Nauvoo Public Library is to provide materials and services for community residents of all ages for personal enrichment, enjoyment and educational needs. The library is dedicated to providing practical access to all forms of media. Programs will be developed to stimulate children’s interest and appreciation for reading and learning.

NASA in Nauvoo! Santa in Space!
Can Santa be seen in space as he delivers presents? Join the Nauvoo Public Library and local NASA Solar System Ambassador Mellissa Smith in our fourth NASA in Nauvoo! to find out! We will be meeting at the old city hall (60 Bluff Street) on December 2nd at 2:00 PM to discuss Santa and the satellites that orbit our planet. The Nauvoo City Hall will be hosting Holly A. Wilde-Tillman, Hancock County Clerk on December 13, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. for Hancock County Voters to mock vote on the new DS200 that will be in Hancock County Polling Precincts at the upcoming elections Please take the time to join her! Santa Reads Twilight: A Reindeer Story at the Library! Nauvoo Public Library is thrilled to announce that local author Adam Woodworth will be in town to sign and read his new book release Twilight: A Reindeer Story. Dressed as Santa, Woodworth will read his delightful new children’s book aloud and be available for signings and questions. He will also have his book available for sale at the event. This event will take place at the Nauvoo Public Library on December 28th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Hotspot Devices Now Available at Nauvoo Public Library! Nauvoo Public Library is excited to announce the addition of two hotspot devices to our collection! This means that you can now check out the internet to take home with you for a few days! Likewise the library has two Amazon Kindles available for checkout, which will allow patrons to check out free eBooks from the library system. Patrons must have a current library card in good standing to check out devices. Call the library at 217-453-2707 for more details or to get yourself on the hold list for these devices!
