The mission of the Nauvoo Public Library is to provide materials and services for community residents of all ages for personal enrichment, enjoyment and educational needs. The library is dedicated to providing practical access to all forms of media. Programs will be developed to stimulate children’s interest and appreciation for reading and learning.
Book Sale at Nauvoo Public Library
On Saturday, May 26th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, join us at the library for a special book sale! Fill a bag for $1.00! You may bring your own, but we will also provide some that day. No restrictions on number of bags. We will have never before seen stock set out that day.
Introducing Rubber Ducky Club!
This is a brand new program for children 3 and under. Complete early literacy activities with your child every month to receive a rubber ducky and free book! Join the Club now by stopping in the Nauvoo Public Library!

Art from Around the World 1: Japanese Carp Streamers: Join us June 1st between 2:00 to 4:00 PM here at the library to make your own Japanese Koinobori streamer!
Operation Migration: June 7th at 1:00 PM, meet us at the Nauvoo Fire Station to learn about some animals that travel! What kind of animals travel? What hardships do they face? Learn this and more through games like Jeop-birdy, limbo, dress up, and more! You may even get to meet some of these live animals in person at the conclusion of the program!
Art from Around the World 2: Australian Dot Painting: Join us June 22nd between 2:00 to 4:00 PM here at the library to learn to paint the Australian way! HEADS UP!: This program involves paint. It will be WASHABLE PAINT, but maybe don’t wear your best clothes that day.
Reading Can Take You to the Sky!: June 28th at 1:30 PM meet us at the Nauvoo Fire Station for a fun afternoon of making and flying paper airplanes! Learn about a woman famous for flying an airplane, make and fly your own paper airplanes, and create your own airplane themed snack!
Up, Up, and Away!: July 5th @ 1:00 PM meet us at the Nauvoo Fire Station for some mad science! Learn about the science of wind and motion through the movement of flying toilet paper, a hovercraft, a mini hot air balloon, fog rings, and air powered confetti!
Art from Around the World 3: India Henna Handprint: Join us July 20th between 2:00 to 4:00 here at the library to decorate your paper handprint with Indian henna designs!
Every Wednesday will be Story Time @ 10:30 here at the library. Please be on time, as we start at 10:30 sharp!
Story Time will resume its normal schedule (every week on Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:00 AM) starting April 11th.
Nauvoo Public Library Cookbook
Nauvoo Public Library is happy to announce that its fundraising cookbook, Tried and True from Our Kitchens in Nauvoo, is here! We will be selling them for $15 each. All proceeds go towards the Library Building Fund. It’s also the perfect gift for the holidays! Pick yours up at the library! Congratulations to Pamela Biesk for winning the cookbook naming contest!
