Mission Statement
The mission of the Nauvoo Public Library is to provide materials and services for community residents of all ages for personal enrichment, enjoyment and educational needs. The library is dedicated to providing practical access to all forms of media. Programs will be developed to stimulate children’s interest and appreciation for reading and learning.

Free Showing of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish
Join Nauvoo Public Library on Friday, May 19th at 6:30 PM at Grandpa John’s Theatre for a FREE showing of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, rated PG. $2.00 to purchase popcorn and $2.00 to purchase a soda. Free will donations accepted as well. All proceeds to towards the Nauvoo fireworks! T-Shirt Fundraiser for the Summer Reading Program at the Nauvoo Public Library! With Summer Reading fast approaching, the Nauvoo Public Library will be taking pre-orders for limited edition Nauvoo Public Library T-shirts. This fun, retro-inspired logo was designed and donated by local Josh LeVesque. All of the money earned from the sales of these shirts will go directly to the library’s Summer Reading Program, helping us purchase supplies for the much-loved make-and-take crafts, purchasing junior-level reading materials, and funding other activities specifically for the Summer Reading program. These shirts will be available through pre-order ONLY. Pre-orders will start Monday, May 1 st and will run through Monday, May 22 nd . All shirts must be paid for when the pre-order is placed. Youth, Adult, and Extended sizes available. Bee the Change! - June 8th @ 2:00 PM at City Park (next to City Hall) Meet us for a fun, art-filled afternoon! Enjoy a bee themed story and craft! For the Trees! - June 22nd @ 2:00 PM at City Park (next to City Hall) Join us to make your own little tree and learn how you can help the trees! Movie Showing: Lightyear- June 24th @ 2:00 PM at Grandpa John’s Theater Join us for a free showing of Disney’s Lightyear. Free popcorn and drink included! Rated PG. Movie Showing: Strange World - July 29th @ 2:00 PM at Grandpa John’s Theater Join us for a free showing of the movie Disney’s Strange World Rated PG. Every week in June and July will be a Take Home Craft! Stop by the library anytime during that week to get a craft bag filled with all the supplies you will need to do that week’s craft! For extra fun, tune in to our Facebook page for an instructional video on how to do the project! Rubber Ducky Club - For Children 3 and under. New activity sheet every month. Book Buck Store - Open every day in June and July at the library. Turn in your book log anytime for prizes! In Person Storytime! Storytime will now be held at city hall every Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:30! Hotspot Devices Now Available at Nauvoo Public Library! Nauvoo Public Library is excited to announce the addition of two hotspot devices to our collection! This means that you can now check out the internet to take home with you for a few days! Likewise the library has two Amazon Kindles available for checkout, which will allow patrons to check out free eBooks from the library system. Patrons must have a current library card in good standing to check out devices. Call the library at 217-453-2707 for more details or to get yourself on the hold list for these devices!
