Mission Statement
The mission of the Nauvoo Public Library is to provide materials and services for community residents of all ages for personal enrichment, enjoyment and educational needs. The library is dedicated to providing practical access to all forms of media. Programs will be developed to stimulate children’s interest and appreciation for reading and learning.

SMOKEY BEAR READING CHALLENGE
Complete Smokey Bear’s Reading Challenge to earn your own hiking kit! You can complete his challenge through November! We still have supplies in stock! NASA in Nauvoo! The Heliophysics Big Year "The Heliophysics Big Year is a global celebration of the Sun's influence on Earth and the entire solar system. From Oct. 14, 2023, to Dec. 24, 2024, we are challenging you to participate in as many Sun-related activities as you can!" -NASA Join the library on October 12th at 2:00 PM in our activity room for an exciting installment of NASA in Nauvoo! Learn all about the sun and how YOU can help celebrate NASA's Heliophysics Big Year! Featuring a craft for kiddos and official NASA info, this is a program good for space fans of all ages! Pumpkin Walk - Spooky Shorts and NASA Star Lab! During Pumpkin Walk (October 26th), join the library at Grandpa John's Cafe from 6-8 PM for Spooky Shorts (short Halloween cartoons) in the theater. At the same time, join us in the dining area for a NASA Star Lab! Enter an inflatable black room where you will create your own star constellation and view the constellations of others! A NASA Solar System Ambassador will be there also with star information and a free NASA sticker or all who attend! Teen Halloween! Beetlejuice Showing and Door Prize! Join the library on Halloween Night for an extra spooky movie showing! We will be showing the original Beetlejuice at 7:00 PM on October 31st at Grandpa John's Theater. This movie is rated PG, but be warned that there are a lot of spooky images and some mature subject matter. Recommended for teens and up, but all are welcome. Free admission, but we will be selling popcorn and soda for $1 each to help fund continuing library programs. Anyone who attends the showing can also put their name in for a special, spooky door prize! One lucky attendee will win Hocus Pocus: The Board Game just by attending NASA in Nauvoo! Neptune Join us on Saturday, November 9th at 2:00 PM at the library for another fun installment of NASA in Nauvoo! This month, we will be learning all about the planet Neptune! With a craft for the kiddos and official NASA information, this program is fitting for space fans of any age! NASA in Nauvoo! Saturn Join us on Saturday, December 14th at 2:00 PM at the library for another fun installment of NASA in Nauvoo! This month, we will be learning all about the planet Saturn!
